Opera GX is a browser designed especially for gamers that is now available in a version for Android and iOS. Previously it was only for PC but now it has also come to mobile phones.

The first thing you will probably notice when you open Opera GX is the look that clearly shows that this is a gamer's browser.

Opera GX is available in two versions: Opera GX PC and Opera GX Mobile. You can download both versions on your devices, and the installation process is quite simple.

This browser has something called GX Corner as a hub for gaming news and information. In addition to the section on game news and offers, users will be able to choose from four themes when setting up the browser, and these vary in color from red, blue, purple and gray.

Opera GX Gaming Browser, especially the one for PC, is filled to the brim with functions. It allows total customization of its resource usage and its appearance, personalization and more. Among many other things, when you open the app in your PC, you can add background music that will make surfing the internet more entertaining. Especially if you normally want to have music in the background when you look around online. Unfortunately, this function does not seem to be available in the mobile version.

You also have the standard cleaner that clears cache and cookies like most other browsers, which is an advantage.

Opera GX has seamless integration with Discord, Twitch, Facebook Chat, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp and more. Most of the services you may use can be added as a built-in widget in your browser. You will never have to open another app or navigate to a web page to run these services.

Select the sources and programs you want information from during installation.

When you open the browser, you see directly under the search box information from various sources about upcoming games, free games and reviews of games. After all, this is a browser for players. The user has access to a built-in ad blocker and shortcuts to frequently visited pages on the web.

In addition to the built-in ad blocker, there is a cookie dialog blocker which I find very practical because it is a bit annoying when these dialog boxes pop up every time you open a new page on the web. By activating that function, you avoid that irritating moment.

When it comes to the search engine itself, you can choose between two browser options from the settings screen, a standard option that allows you to navigate like any other app and a quick action option that provides some extra shortcuts in the navigation bar that allow users to quickly open and close their tabs.

If you choose to have Opera GX installed on your computer and smartphone, it will be possible to synchronize the mobile browser with the PC version, and there is even an encrypted message space called Flow. Where you can leave notes to yourself, send files and basically link to anything on the web. This means that the same information can be accessed in both mobile and PC.

Sadly, the mobile version does not seem to have access to the free VPN that the PC version has, but one can hope that this function will come in some later update of the app.

If you are in need of a browser that offers information about new game releases, free games, game offers or simply loves to thematize your device around gaming, Opera GX Mobile may be just what you are looking for.
